Dharamsala: ADC launches anti-drug campaign : The Tribune India

Additional Deputy Commissioner Gandharwa Rathod today launched a campaign against drug trafficking and illicit trafficking at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here. On the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, she said, “To make society drug-free, the cooperation and collective efforts of the public are needed.” She said the district administration will provide all possible support to voluntary organizations for this purpose.

She said the motto of the day was to keep people off drugs and to fight against drug trafficking so that the future of the younger generations can be bright.

She said drug addiction dug the roots of society. She said that in the current scenario, keeping young people away from drugs was a big challenge, so all sections of society should ensure their cooperation. She said that the role of parents as well as teachers was very important in this regard.

She said the government is organizing awareness programs at different levels to educate children about the harmful effects of drugs. The Chief Medical Officer, Dr Gurdarshan, regularly provides counseling to children through the Department of Health in Schools.

On this occasion, representatives of various voluntary organizations discussed in detail how to save the younger generation from drug addiction.
